-presidential candidate, sarah palin, posting her response on facebook to the video. many of you have seen theuent 07 speech in which then senator obama suggested that because of racism, the federal government didn't waive the stafford act to assist new orleans after katrina. 10 days before senator obama gave this speech, the federal government did in fact waive the stafford act for new orleans. and to add insult to injury, barack obama was one of 14 senators who voted against the bill that, included the provision to give supplemental emergency assistance to new orleans of he was being dishonest and divisive, which we have seen far too often from him in the last four years. former governor sarah palin is here. i am curious, i know he voted against the starveord act. but i am curious, that was part of a bill that had funding for iraq. that's why he was opposing the war in iraq. does that have any impact on your thoughts about this? >> yeah, it sure does. it makes me disrespect president obama, then candidate obama even more because he believed on principle that in order to defund our troops, the provi
. >> a lot was said four years ago about joe biden's debate with sarah palin. now, he has known congressman ryan for quite some time. they have dealt together. how do you expect the tone to be different? >> well, remember, four years ago, biden had really one big challenge. he didn't want to make any major mistakes. but his only really great big challenge in that debate was sarah palin was this new figure, very controversial, had had some recent slip-ups. he had to not come across as condescending. he had to have an even performance, get through the night. this is going to be a very different night. as you said, the two men know each other, they both have very in-depth policy backgrounds. i think you'll see a lot more depth of policy knowledge exchanged, a lot more barbed attacks, and biden's going to have to go after ryan for those particular policies and talk a lot about his own expertise in not only budget matters but also foreign policy. i think you'll see a lot more depth in terms of the conversation on thursday than you did four years ago. >> carrie dan, thank you and good luck out th

[ applause ] perfect. all right. paul ryan, he's been saying yeah, there's been some missteps. >> we've had some missteps but at the end of the day the choice is really clear. we're giving people a very clear choice. >> stephanie: yes, yes. clearer and clearer. and then he proceeded to screw it up a little more by saying -- >> it's -- you wouldn't -- i wouldn't -- >> stephanie: dana in maryland. >> caller: good morning, everybody. how you doin'? >> stephanie: good. >> caller: i saw pictures from seattle. it looked fun. i like ron reagan jr. he's awesome. >> stephanie: he's awesome. >> caller: okay. so yeah, the debates i just hope that they talk about women's issues. i think that obama can slam him there. >> stephanie: by the way -- have you seen the new ads that are supposed to appeal to women with all of the b
debate after that at the presidential level. the vice presidential debate between sarah palin and joe biden topped 70 million americans. so the audience is huge. you have been in denver the past three days. what are you picking up from the romney team, from the obama campaign? >> i think the romney team is looking for a big night. they are looking for a game changer for all the talk about how it doesn't have to be everything. this is a big moment for this campaign. they sense nationally that they are on the verge of closing the gap. and in these battleground states some of these states seem like they are spreading apart like ohio. but they think this is a changing moment. i read one interview anecdotally about ann romney saying the first thing mitt romney does when he gets in these debate is he walks on stage, he puts the watch on the podium. he where is on the piece of paper, dad, because of his dad george romney also ran for president. then he finds ann romney in the crowd. and i think that that -- we'll be watching for that. how governor romney handles the first minutes of his pers
went on to that vice presidential debated with sarah palin by all accounts won that as well. most memorable moments from that were sarah palin not answering questions. so can he do the same thing? that was a very difficult debate. do you remember all the prep for that? >> he had to walk a very delicate line and not insulting her. will we see some of that this week? >> i think what you have got on the stage are two very knowledgeable attic could you lat. nobody knows the budget better than paul ryan. nobody has probably at least in the national stage a better perspective, big picture of the overall sense of government as joe biden. again, you may not agree with his conclusions. but he understands the intricacies, so this is going to be a great debate between two knowledgeable warriors. >> very quickly, what's on your show tonight. >> he well, we have frank will you tell us looking at ads and people's response. we will be talking about mitt romney's religion with congressman lab bore out of identified da who he. we have panget we will be doing a little bit of debate analysis. the ki
